The only running club named after a poet
Islwyn Running Club organises 4 races per year
and takes part in the Gwent Leisure League,a series of 5 road races in the summer and 5 x/country races in the winter

The 2010 Club Championships is being organised by Glyn Hicks
Points can be accumulated from Jan 1st to Dec 31st
It is the responsibility of members to notify Glyn of any points won by email (gwenfron.williams@sky.com)
or phone 01443790118 or by post to Windyridge,pleasant veiw ynysybwl cf37 9pf or on training nights
Points can be accrued from the following race categories
A.50 pts for completing any marathon/20 miler-only 1 to count
 or 25pts for completing a half marathon-2 to score in 1 year
 
B.30pts in descending order(ie 30 pts for 1st Islwyn runner,29 for 2nd and so on for1 of the following
Reverse 10.Brecon 10 or Lliswerry 8
 
C.30pts in descending order for 3 of the following races,Swansea 10k,Cardiff 10k,Sorbrook Challenge,Drovers Run,Methyr Mawr Pudding Run,Reindeer Run.
 
D.30pts in descending order for 1 of the following races,Pentyrch Fell Run,Llanwonno or the Machen Mountain Run.
 
 E.20 pts for completing the Rose Inn Series or the Transcendental Races
 
F.5 pts for every x/c or road leisure league appearance.10 bonus pts for 100% turn out
 
G.5 pts for running or marshalling Club events
This gives a possible 295 pts
This championship will only work if Glyn is informed of results,there is a cutoff of 2 weeks for reporting results 
 
Congratulations to Hayden Hartnell and Maria Williams for winning their age groups in the 2009 Leisure League.
Also to Coleen Birch  for finishing 2nd and Mike Dury,Jim Dobbs and Jackie Jones for finishing 3rd
